An ancient weapon of unknown origin was found in a German castle some fifty years ago. Since it was obviously something of value, it was decided that it would be awarded to the best fighter in the world. After all, who would appreciate a weapon more than an experienced fighter? Eleven of the world’s finest combatants (including Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart and Vincent Valentine) have set out to claim this prize.

The mysterious artifact came to be known as Ehrgeiz, and the tournament that was built around it took on the very same name. Now rumors suggest that the door to a long-forgotten land can be unlocked with this weapon; a land that could reveal the secret of immortality. The tournament has taken on a whole new meaning!

Ehrgeiz-01eEhrgeiz is a 3D fighting game that takes place within elevated environments. As in most fighting titles, players seek to wear down their opponent’s life meter before time runs out, all while protecting their own character from harm. A series of ten fights comprise the tournament, with each fight requiring two victories in order to progress.

Moves consist of high, mid and low attacks, guarding by standing in front of the opponent, special attacks in the form of projectiles, and interrupts, which counter incoming special attacks. Characters can also run, crouch, jump, roll on the ground, perform throws and evade attacks by spinning their bodies.

Three modes of play include Arcade (fight all of the characters in succession until you defeat the final boss character), Versus (choose the stage, set the handicap and challenge a friend) and Practice (characters have unlimited time and health). Yet the game also includes several extras to separate it from other fighting titles. These include the following four mini-games: Infinity Battle, Battle Runner, Battle Beach and Battle Panel.

Infinity Battle is similar to a survival mode in that you must defeat as many computer opponents as you can before your life meter runs out. Battle Runner is a racing game that has players running around trying to finish a course before their opponent. Of course, combat is encouraged and successful attacks will help characters run faster! Ecsaform is a tactical RPG game released by Bandai in 1999.

The old civilization of mankind using nanotechnology altered the ecosystem. The current civilization is the civilization of certain scientists that try to analyze the nanotechnology using a nano-machine fusion and try to convert human beings into more advanced species, and they have tried to emulate transformation using a nano-machine fusion and the body of the main character is converted to emulate nanotechnology.

Ecsaform-01bLong forgotten by his countrymen, an old scientist decides to take revenge by creating robots mechas mi humans, Ecsaforms. He created and 2 identical to destroy the world. But his plan when it turns to vinegar remark that one of Ecsaform (the hero of the game) has no desire to do evil and fled the laboratory. It was then that begins this great adventure that is the basis for a theme relatively lambda, overfished in the world of Japanese animation by Evangelion, Metropolis and others: The robot exceed Does man one day and possess – it is a soul concrete?

The universe is Ecsaform interressant. New age, it shows the characters and totally liberated accustomed to high technology.. The places visited are therefore relatively futuristic. The world is chaotic Ecsaform, everything seems ravaged, unfit, perverse. A quite unique ambience emerges from this game and it is by far its greatest strength. Thus the characters also are unique, displaying a style that was both fantasy and punk, a mix that seems logical in this universe and that does not distorts the atmosphere.

The gameplay is the usual in the tactical rpg games. The second cd of the game features artwork, movies, sounds and a database.

The falcata is a type of sword typical of Pre-Roman Hispania (the Iberian Peninsula, modern Spain and Portugal), similar to the Greek kopis or Nepalese kukri. The term Falcata is not ancient. It seems to have been coined by Fernando Fulgosio in 1872, on the model of the Latin expression ensis falcatus “sickle-shaped sword” (which, however, refers to the Harpe). He presumably went with falcata rather than falcatus because the Spanish word for sword espada is feminine, although there are other presumable theories. The name caught on very quickly, and is now firmly entrenched in the scholarly literature.

Falcata-01dFalcata was one of the first games released on PlayStation in Japan, and for sure it was a strange one, the game is a mix between an strategy board game and a RPG game. In the game screen, the game draws a line connecting some different circles on a map, given a genuine and bizarre sense of atmosphere.

The game is set in 1500 BC in a land with different cities and hostile tribes, that makes most of the people to travel to other lands. The goal of the game is to restore the land so the people can stop their endless wandering, and finally arrived to that land and that will end with the tribal fights. The player’s character will be the hero to reach that? Only time will tell.

The game features 6 different parties that can be customized in their clothes and hair, all of them with their own stats. The game-play is about going around those places and examine them, in some of them you will have to fight and then the game takes the usual rpg style with turns to choose the proper actions that the player wants his characters to do. But instead of fights he can also pay to avoid the fights, make pacts or discover relics, etc.

Wild Arms is a Western-themed role-playing video game developed by Japanese software company Media.Vision and Sony’s internal studio Contrail. Originally released in Japan in 1996 for the Sony PlayStation video game console, it was later translated and released in North America in 1997 and Europe in 1998 by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is noteworthy for not only being one of the first role-playing video games on the PlayStation, but also one of the few to feature a Western American setting and motif. The game features 2D computer graphics for normal gameplay, while battle sequences are rendered in 3D.

WildArms-01dTaking place in the fantasy world of Filgaia, Wild Arms follows the adventures of a band of miscreants and adventurers called Dream Chasers who scour the world in search of excitement and fortune. The player assumes control of a young boy named Rudy who has the ability to operate powerful weapons called Ancient Relic Machines (ARMs), forbidden remnants of a lost age that resemble guns. Along with his companions Jack and Cecilia, the group must use their respective skills to navigate through the vast wastelands and dungeons of Filgaia and prevent an otherworldly threat from reviving their lost leader and destroying the world.

The story builds gradually, and though a bit confusing at times, reveals interesting bits of our characters’ sordid pasts. Overworld adventuring is standard, but Wild ARMs stands out in its Dungeon scenarios, presenting challenging and downright fun puzzles to solve around every corner.

Valkyrie Profile is a role-playing video game developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix (now Square Enix) for the PlayStation. It was released on December 22, 1999 in Japan and on August 29, 2000 in North America. An enhanced port of the game was later released for the PlayStation Portable under the name Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on March 2, 2006 in Japan, July 18, 2006 in North America, and April 27, 2007 in Europe.

valkyrieprofile-01eThe game was both a commercial and critical success, spawning a few related titles on different consoles. A PlayStation 2 sequel, titled Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, was released in 2006 in Japan and North America, and 2007 in Europe. Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for the Nintendo DS was released in Japan in 2008, March 17, 2009 in North America and on April 3, 2009 in all PAL regions.

Valkyrie Profile’s storyline centers on Norse mythology. A war between Ragnarok and Odin is close to breaking out in Valhalla while a conflict on Earth is also brewing. As a Valkyrie, the player’s role is to go down to Earth and recruit 24 fallen soldiers to join the fight against Ragnarok. As each soldier’s spirit is recruited it must be trained and eventually sent to Valhalla to fight beside Odin. Deciding when to send a soldier to Valhalla impacts the game as weak soldiers may perish while strong soldiers may be useless if sent too late.

While adventuring, only a total of three other warriors may be in your party at any one time. When in dungeons the game becomes a side-scrolling platform game in which the player will be able to run, jump, and attack. Battles outside of dungeons are turn-based and include combination attacks.
