Known as buruma (ブルマ), also burumā (ブルマー), bloomers were introduced to Japan as women’s clothing for physical education in 1903. After the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, a newer style of bloomers which fit the body closer, similar to volleyball uniforms, became commonplace. Around the mid-1990s, however, schools and individuals began to choose longer, looser sports shorts instead, citing modesty concerns. Most schools have dropped the close-fitting buruma athletic wear in favor of newer styles, but the classic buruma is still available from uniform suppliers. Many people are also interested in buruma (bloomers) for cosplay events.

Our classic Japanese School Uniform Gym and Sports Buruma (Bloomer) Shorts are Made in Japan!

This is a real uniform item, not a cheap hong kong costume. The brand we ship may change due to availability, but will always be the same high quality uniform gear approved by the Japanese School Athletic Federation.

The shorts feature double layered cotton knit fabric with inner backing, and a very stretchy elastic waistband.

The matching Crew-neck T-shirt features a thick cotton knit fabric with a slightly gathered waistband for a great fit.

Both pieces of the set are super absorbent, breathable, and very comfortable. Perfect for school, the gym, CosPlay, or relaxing at home!

These uniforms can be hand/machine washed or dry cleaned. Wrinkle resistant, but can take an iron if necessary. Well fitted, but can be easily altered by you or professional seamstress. Don’t Miss this fantastic offer!

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in Japan. It was introduced to Japan in 1872 by Horace Wilson, who taught at the Kaisei School in Tokyo. The first baseball team was called the Shimbashi Athletic Club and was established in 1878. Baseball has been a popular sport ever since. It is called yakyu in Japanese, combining the characters for fielding and ball.

99Koshien-01bIn Japan, high school baseball generally refers to the 2 annual baseball tournaments played by high schools nationwide culminating at a final showdown at Hanshin Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Japan. They are organized by the Japan High School Baseball Federation in association with Mainichi Shimbun for the National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament in the spring (also known as “Spring Koshien”) and Asahi Shimbun for the National High School Baseball Championship in the summer (also known as “Summer Koshien”).

These nationwide tournaments enjoy widespread popularity, arguably equal to or greater than professional baseball. Qualifying tournaments are often televised locally and each game of the final stage at Koshien is televised nationally on NHK. The tournaments have become a national tradition, and large numbers of frenzied students and parents travel from hometowns to cheer for their local team. It is a common sight to see players walking off the field in tears after being eliminated from the tournament by a loss. Continue reading ‘99 Koushien, (SLPS-02110)’ »

3D Baseball is one of the first PlayStation games to use 3D polygonal models and stadiums. Everything from the batter’s swing and movements are rendered in 3D in order to capture a realistic essence of baseball.

It comes equipped with a MLBPA (Major League Baseball Players Association) license that allows for real teams and players. There are over 700 actual major league players included with their own statistics and batting stances (50 of which are included). Each team plays in their own stadium rendered after its real-life counterpart.

3DBaseballTheMajors-01eThere are a few gameplay options you can choose from. The season mode is just that — a full season of baseball. You can play it with an arcade setting or you can be the general manager of your team. Being the general manager means you will have to actually run the team. You’ll have to pick line-ups and your pitching rotation, substitute batters and runners, trade players, etc. This also allows you to build your very own dream team featuring your favorite players. You can play a short or extended season or opt to play a quickie arcade game against the computer or friend. The choice is yours.

3D Baseball also features the commentating talent of Van Earl Wright. There are over a thousand comments to be heard ranging from snide insults to player statistics and the announcement of substitutes.

Features:
Choose from among 700 MLB players
Over 50 authentically recreated batting stances
Color commentary by Van Earl Wright

World Soccer Winning Eleven (also known as Goal Storm in the export version) is the first game in the acclaimed Pro Evolution Soccer series. All of the World Cup games are represented in World Soccer Winning Eleven, and respond according to actual team performance. For example, Brazil is much better than, say, Canada. The game looks good, even if the players are a bit simply designed. The control is solid and relatively intuitive, the only major problem being the placement of the defensive tackle and goal shot on the same button. There’s even the obligatory announcer, calling plays and adding that much heralded element of realism to the game, very popular in today’s sports games.

See how well that settles your nerves.
